2006-02-19 [ShiftySkillet]: way to be bored in some class, xido! :p
2006-02-20 [Lunnie]: Mmm interesting. o.o;; Maybe you could try making a font out of those or some clear graphics. It's a little hard to read. Either way, -watches- ^__^
2006-02-20 [xido]: I AM making a font out of them.... see the big one up top... I have all 45 of them like that. I am editing them currently for use as a font. I didn't know this page could be openly viewed... I just thought I'd make some noise about it until someone asked.... I actually set it up so that it was only viewable and editable by me... How come that isn't working? Not to throw you guys out, but I wanted it to work right..... :(
2006-02-20 [Lunnie]: I have no clue, but can I have your font once it's done? XD
2006-02-20 [iippo]: You need a forum to hide it. The choice is viewable by forum members only and editable by owner only, not viewable and editable by owner only. :)
2006-02-23 [Darvitch]: My friend... Such content is somewhat captivating for myself, in a tense way, considering the supposed "source" of information. I beg for your sincerity on awnsering me some questions, if you do not mind it, of course: Is this content actually worth considering practical or historically correct in the way I am thinking? And, if it is, where, how and when you acquired this knowledge? Sorry if I sound agressive. This is me. All the best for all of you.
2006-02-26 [xido]: I see about the forum... darn it all... oh well... Um, when the font is finished, we're gonna start talking about publication, so I'll consider it... maybe only if I get something in return for it... ;) The type face is mixed from earthly letters, runes, and what I believe the fantasy draconic alphabet to look like, and have created it as the first phase in an endeavor to create an alphabet and basic diction of all the common D&D fantasy languages... I hope to utilize them for a publication for Wizards of the Coast/ D&D... We'll see.

2006-12-10 dragonfan: Do you have more words in draconic language than there are in the book Draconomicon that DnD has put out?
2006-12-10 [xido]: Hi, dragonfan, and to answer your question, yes, but only a slight few more. I am currently trying to get in touch with Owen K. C. Stephens, the original author of the Dragon Magazine article, "Dragontongue" in issue #284, so that I can feature more 'authentic' information on the full language of dragons. I do not currently have this issue, but you can find info on it here:
http://www.pen
You can also find an article on Dragon Names by him in issue #260:
http://www.pen
As I said, I do not currently have these articles or issues of the gaming magazine to feature "authentic" draconic material other than what has been presented in the Draconomicon, but as this page progresses, more will be featured, and if new information comes to light, I will make sure it is posted. I would also appreciate anyone who owns or purchases the issues of these publications (which are available in print or as an Adobe .pdf file on the web - http://paizo.c
Thanks for commenting dragonfan, and because you are the first non-ET person to pop up, I'd like to ask: How did you hear about this page?
-will
2007-04-19 [xido]: I now own the article I referred to in the above comment.
I am considering a mutual project with Owen K. C. Stephens in the future, after my representative gets in touch with him through Wizards or Paizo.
2007-05-29 [Galadhwen]: This is so cool and I like what I see.Can anyone tell me if they have a dragon script by dr, ernest drake from the book Dragonology??
2007-06-01 [xido]: I own that book. It uses purely Nordic Runes, which are also the script which Tolkien used for Hobbits in his series.
Thanks and best wishes!
2007-06-06 pyre builder: hey, i dunno if anyone still looks here for updates, but i found this site by google, i was looking for two words which i have never seen in draconic, to translate a book, "salt" and "marsh" if anyone knows where i could find these, i would love to be e-mailed at jbrocketman@gmail.com
2007-06-07 [xido]: I moderate and maintain the page, and I'm glad to have interested viewers. It looks like there is no currently published translation for 'salt' or 'marsh' in Draconic. Perhaps for salt, begin with 'stone' and maybe make something up a little more like a mineral or spice word in Draconic. And let us know what you decide, so we can add it to the official list.
And I can see your emoticon clearly.

2007-06-07 pyre builder: oh, ok, probably just my computer. also, i was putting your dictionary onto a word document, to use easier (ill e-mail u a copy when im done) and noticed, arrow is called the same as "kill", the draconomicon does this too, i was wondering if you could find out what it actually is? or are they the same? 4 words i made up in order to translate a poem to draconic were:
last/final: Karach
slow:osskevekorik
this/here: thel
unimportant/useless: pothvim
2007-06-07 [xido]: Great words. Nice work.
Let us know if you come up with any more. I would like to make this page a full synopsis of Draconic language and scripts.
2007-06-10 pyre builder: ok, xido, i am e-mailing you the word file, with all the words ive made so far in it, i will give you updated versions later.
2007-06-11 [xido]: I opened your document, but with the changes I have made to the page, I will simply add them in one by one. I will also hope to develop a more complete diction of terms. Also, the alphabet has 45 unique letter-sounds which can be utilized for more variety.
I welcome any list of words to get translations. Please include the part of speech when posting them.

last/final: Karach

this/here: thel
unimportant/us
salt: ausnesalisj
marsh: edajing
arrow: vaess
2007-06-25 pyre builder: sent more words, and numbers! have fun ^_^ oh, youve got "far" twice. good work!
2007-07-07 [xido]: I got that email. I will post it soon. Also, fixed the extra 'far' in the adjective section. I need to find an easy way to compile the terms all back together in alphabetical order without messing up the formatting...
Took me a while to answer because I have been in the middle of a move... Better now, but things might still be tough... Have a few too many projects going on at once. :P
2007-07-07 [xido]: Info from pyre builder:
I noticed we only have 1 in draconic! So I made an entire numbering system. Oh, and draconic hasn't bothered with non-real numbers (pi, sigma, square root, etc) because they can either figure it out in their head easily (complex things like cubed roots, etc are easy for them.) or they don't bother. (why use math to figure out the circumference of a circle when you can magically take it apart or copy it?)
Numbers/amount
1: ir
2: ri
3: ire
4: eora
5: arsik
6: hekt
7: svna
8: aract
9: ba
0: ni
Multiples of 10: pa-#-pa (90,000,000,000 can be ba-pa-ima-ni-p
Pre1: ima (11 would be ima-ir)
Pre2: rizge
Pre3: iredga
Pre4: eoravni
Pre5: arsana
Pre6: hekya
Pre7: svnira
Pre8: aractra
Pre9: babir
Pre0: nihi (100 is ir-nihi-ni 1000 is ir-nihi-nihi-n
Decimal: davit (0.17 is nihi-davit-ni-
Negative: nenil (-0.5 is nenil-davit-ar
Numbers are always written with separators.
Ras: soul
vim: part
vir: whole
onurisv-sick
marti: calm/relaxatio
tuel :happiness/hap
I came up with vim by rasvim (treasure) wouldn't it make sense to a dragon to call something that precious a part of their soul?
And then vir, peace is complete calm/relaxatio
2007-07-07 [xido]: Ok, now that I have it posted here to review...
I am having a very difficult time deciphering how I am supposed to utilize your numbering system, especially since I was employing a Roman-Numeral-
1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500, 1K, 5K, 10K, 50K, 100K, 500K, 1M, 5M, 10M, 50M, 100M, 500M, 1B
I posted those icons above, as well as the symbol for decimal. I will need a shorter version of each of those 'round numbers', or at least a translation of how I supposed to say it... Also, there are still letter sounds not being utilized, such as Ch, Dj (which is the often used letter for Sj, and sounding dialectic), Kh, Kk, 'd, Sh, and quite a few vowel varieties... We need to start integrating them into words ASAP, so that it doesn't look like they were a last minute thought.
2007-07-14 pyre builder: K, thought about it a bit, and if they look similar, just change it a little, this is probably either gold or red dialect anyway, different races would warp it slightly.
1 )Ir
5 )Arsik (ark)
10 )Ima-ni (imi)
50 )Arsana-ni (arsani)
100 )Ir-nihi-ni (ikkani)
500 )Arsana-nihi-ni (arsahin)
1K )Shir’d
5K )Arsana-shir’d (arsir’d)
10K )imi-shir’d (imiir’d)
50K )arsani-shir’d (arsini’d)
100K )ikkani-shir’d (ikkir’d)
500K )arsahin-shir’d (arin’d)
1M )djassa (dij)
5M )Arsana-djassa (adidj)
10M )ima-djassa (issai)
50M )Arsana-djassa (ardij)
100M )ikkani-djassa (ikkjas)
500M )arsahin-djassa (aris’jas)
Apokke’d (1B)
Decimal is ۸, but down low, like a normal decimal's position.
Negative is normal.
Decimal: dravit
Negative: stravik
thanks. -pyrebuilder
2007-07-15 pyre builder: sorry, i gave you the new word for negative twice, the second one is better.
2007-08-16 Artemis Crow: this is a pretty cool site you guys have running, Prye builder told me about in in life and i havn't really checked it out in detail until now, well, at least i have some motivation to help him out now! See you guys sometime in the future....bye!
2007-09-21 [xido]: I agree, 'stravik' is cooler, but let's make the K a Kk (rolling or clicking K). ... So 'stravikk'.
Thanks, Artemis. I appreciate the input. Are there any letter-sounds that you don't understand?
Sorry I am not around too much... Not much online access at the moment. Will continue this project as time goes on.
2007-09-26 Ryn: If I've somehow skipped over the note for this and am asking a redundant question, then I apologize in advance. I have the Races of the Dragon book with the Draconic Language Appendix in it, so I'm going off of that and the info on this site, and so far as I can tell from the sample translations and whatnot dragons do no conjugate their verbs? Just checking to make sure that is correct or if you have any information regarding verb tenses and conjugation.
Thanks!
~Ryn
2007-10-20 pyrebuilder: not really, if you want to get more into the draconic language, i would recommend getting the draconomicon, which explains far more about how the language is used (i thought so, look over a friends' copy) it also explains a lot about culture. (helpfull for creating new words)
2007-10-20 pyre builder: i just noticed that the example i put for 1000 says "ir-nihi-nihi-ni", but it would actually be "ima-nihi-nihi-ni"
ya, sorry if im being too nitpicky.
2007-10-24 OhNoOhYes: yay i finally found this site! pyre when u gave it to me at your house i couldn't remember it (no duh...) so yay!
2007-11-03 [xido]: Great to meet you both, new friends.
A note about the Draconic language in Jashnia:
Information for the following campaign elements will be separated as follows:
- Jashnia and its Cosmology
- Inath
- the Epicene
- non-Epicene, non-Jashnian Inath campaigns
These campaign setting elements will be split as follows:
- all OGL Content (Game-applicabl
- all personalized, unique, WFR-oriented, character-crea
Inath and its inherent portions are part of a potential publication currently unrepresented by any party except [xido] himself. The Grammaticum Primeaval and all its inherent portions are currently represented by Paul Lapidus at New Funtiers, http://www.new
2007-12-28 [xido]: Way cool, man. We are working on this slowly but surely. I would like to feature it in Dragon Magazine at some point, so if it disappears, I can make sure to let you all know what issue to expect it in. ;) All contributors will get adequate mentioning if it ever takes place.

2008-01-08 [EnigmaFlame]: Im gona get a draconomicon, and see if that helps
2008-01-15 [EnigmaFlame]: Favorite band, just guess. Dragon force!
2008-01-21 pyrebuilder: hey, its been a long time since i dropped bye, for those of you who want to make words, you have to take existing words and mix them carefully, keeping the important sounds in the words, but it also has to roll of the tongue easilly, and sound like what they discribe, like "earth" is going to have deeper sounding letters than "air".
2008-01-21 [xido]: That's good advice, my friend.
Everyone, please be forewarned:
This page is part of a greater project - a culmination of Fantasy Languages. It is also under the umbrella heading of content developed for the Grammaticum Primeaval, which is a Jashnia-oriented concept.
That being the case, it is under the publication rights of xidoraven studios to add, edit, change, or delete certain content for usage in their publication endeavors. This is not meant as an offense to any creators, but as a disclaimer: we appreciate your input and assistance, but please note that the publication industry has standards, limits, and policies that we as individuals may not understand personally. I will try me best to get all contributed content published in our media, but please bare with me.
Thanks, and best wishes to you all. Please consider joining the WFR, and make our Guild the most notoriously creative organization in gaming and fiction on the web.

2008-02-18 raziel: nice page, really, but please make your letters at the scripts a bit more clear so I won't have to chenge glasses soon :)
2008-03-09 [xido]: If you are simply reading them as they are posted, they are in fact quite small. Try clicking on the images, and they will open into large windows.
Notice and Updates:
The alphabet I created is moving forward with the project I spoke about earlier. I will be utilizing OKC Stephens material, which I will also post here, because it is important that people be able to view where this information is coming from.
I am not sure if the information is any more informative in 'Races of the Dragon' than it is in 'Draconomicon', but the page will soon have this added to its media.
Pyrebuilder, do you have any problems with me attempting to merge your content with our own Elftown diction of draconic terms, and simply credit you on these wikipages? This is a voluntary project, and may include a publication, software application, and/or Wizards.com-re
We will be publishing under the name of xidoraven studios, a company currently in the works.

2008-08-12 [xido]: Um, things went to hell in a handbasket between then and now. Just to let you all know, things suck ass at the moment for me. Homelessness is not a fun time, in case it ever crosses your path. :/
